Will it still take an hour to get anywhere?

For all the TTC freaks out there in the studio audience, check out this grass-roots subway discussion.

I shudder to think of how much fares would increase, though. *grin*

But apparently eating them whole is okay?

Nothing like good, old-fashioned consumer advocacy.

Part of me wonders where Kraft's marketing genuises missed the boat?

I wish Dennis Miller was here

It's time again for "Weekend Update"!

I think today is one of those days where I went to work just to get some rest and I'm hoping that the 2 large-o coffees will help alleviate my case of "ass drag-itis".

I think I can itemize it a little easier:

  • Thursday Evening: Hockey practice with The Boy. (I suited up and worked with his team's goalie.)
  • Friday: Worked from home, curse self for forgetting power cord for laptop. Praise self for having foresight to own external HD. Transfer work to home computer and proceed. Played Parental Volunteer for the afternoon skate that the Wondertwins' school had on at the local arena. Worked with The Girl on her skating and she seems to be making some progress.
  • Friday evening: back working on work stuff. Dinner out with The Wife and the Wondertwins.
  • Saturday AM: 7AM hockey practice with The Boy. Didn't suit up, but took skates and a stick and worked with the goalie again. Shoveled our driveway and did the neighbours' too.
  • Saturday Daytime: Kids gone to their fathers' place, Wife and I run around to buy stuff for the bedroom. Like the TV she's been wanting. Oh, and we'll need a DVD player too.
  • Saturday later Daytime: Home from shopping and the TV wall-mount project begins in earnest. (thank God for stud-finders)
  • Saturday evening: Praise self for totally kick-ass installation and for the re-arrangement of the bedroom. Go out for food & movies & XBox games to help break in the new "suite"
  • Sunday AM: Slight sleep-in and then off to watch The Boy's hockey game. Boy not there, father had wrong game time. Boy made it for 3rd period. *sigh*
  • Sunday daytime: Back to store to return new DVD player. Got audio but no video. *shit* Got new DVD player. Tested. Works. Plead with Wife to declare a moratorium on errands for the weekend.
  • Sunday later Daytime: took advantage of nice weather to replace the headlights in the Mighty Intrepid. Curse self for losing 3/8" socket and borrow one from neighbour, and then curse self again for not putting it where needed after Wife retrieves it. Curse Chrysler for such a complicated engineering arrangement. Praise self for buying aftermarket parts and avoiding dealer installation costs. Express wistful regret that Wife will enjoy new lights on Mighty Intrepid Monday night while I get stuck with Sparky the Wonder Saturn for my game.
  • Sunday evening: My hockey game. Last one of the regular season. Wind up playing most of the last period for one team on just before us. Their goalie got laid out. Played an okay game for my guys and we won 8-4. Playoffs start in 2 weeks. Curse well-worn goalie gear for needing repairs at inopportune moments. Praise self for hanging on to old blocker for use on Monday.
  • Sunday night: Enjoyed an illuminated drive home (why the fuck did I wait so long?) and got a nice back rub from The Wife as I was one sore-ass puppy.

Heeeee's Baaaaaack!

Hi all!

I'm back, I'm here, I'm hip, I'm.....

Okay, maybe not so much on the "hip" part, but I'm here! This blog will take a slightly different approach than my last one, but I'l looking forward to getting reconnected with all my blogrollers and all of you out there in the studio audience, and all of you playing along at home.
