R.I.P. James Doohan
I just saw the sad news on the Toronto Star's web site. Another sci-fi icon gone forever.
His legacy will live up to the motto of the Royal Canadian Artillery (with whom he served in World War 2), 'Ubique'.
Everywhere...
Step-parenthood, Hockey, Gripes, Observations, Feckless meanderings and other assorted written tidbits.

I'm sorry, I am not that smart. Who is James Doohan?
Scottie from Star Trek. I guess it was his time to "beam up", hm?
Another great Canadian that no one knew was Canadian, a veteran and a wonderful man.
R.I.P.
Kirk's a canadian too. But I like Scotty better.
James Lileks did a great MP3 of Scotty sayings a couple of years ago. It's on this page: (http://www.lileks.com/bleatophany/index.html).
It's called "Up Your Shaft" and it's midway down the page. To borry from Larry/P-Shag et al: Brilliant!
I didn't know he was Canadian! Thanks for the info.
Am I the only one that got a chuckle reading the "Up Your Shaft" comment?
I didn't think so.
Hardly... ;-)
I chuckled...
We all did.
All hail Scotty!!!
I'd like to add my RIP to the tombstone for Long John Baldry as well. I grew up listening to him and watching him perform at folk festivals and the like... I fear Im getting old now.
May the rest of us live long and prosper.
Hey sweetie - still at the library because the ISP is down at home. I'm going crazy not being able to talk to you. I miss you.
Come home soon, k?
(I know this has nothing to do with Scotty, but hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do).
